Stunning timelapse of sudden weather change in Iceland By Kolbeinn Tumi Dadason 10. febrúar 2015 22:17 The video was taken from the 12th floor in the tallest office building in Reykjavik. Those who have visited Iceland over the years have no doubt heard the local saying: "If you don't like the weather, just wait fifteen minutes". An employer of the city of Reykjavik seems to have proven the saying is wrong. It actually only takes thirteen minutes and during that time the weather actually changes many times. Jon Ingi Thorvaldsson, an employee of the city of Reykjavik, noticed the ever changing weather from his office building during a meeting today. During a 10-15 minute interval he saw the weather go from sunny to snowy twice prompting him to pick up his phone. As Jon Ingi states this is no news to Icelanders but maybe news to others. "So, just for fun, I started a time-lapse recording on my phone for the rest of meeting... or until the battery died.“ Jon explains to Visir that he was in a meeting when he decided to record the video - now a time lapse. The real video length is "around 13 minutes" according to Jon Ingi. The video, which can be seen below, is quite something - even by Icelandic standards. The view from the office is of the Faxafloi bay looking in the direction of downtown Reykjavik. And if you haven't had enough of sudden weather change in Iceland - check out a music video from the Icelandic band Sudden Weather Change. Post by Jon Ingi Thorvaldsson.
