Spring to Iceland: I am on my Way

Two European Golden Plovers were spotted near Höfn in Hornafjörður this mornging, the first reported sighting of the migratory bird this year. According to ancient Icelandic folklore, the arrival of the Golden Plover is the first sign of spring. The last few years, the bird has usually been spotted between March 20-29, but sigthing usually remain few until April.
