Biggest cocain bust ever in Iceland 29. nóvember 2006 11:48 An Icelandic man in his thirties was arrested last week carrying the biggest stack of cocaine ever to be found during regular check-up at Keflavik International Airport. The custom officers found 3 kilos of cocaine in the man's belongings. He was traveling alone, and came to Keflavik from Copenhagen on November 21st. He was put in three weeks detention. At this moment it is not known if others are involved. Up until now the biggest found was two kilos, which was found on an 18 year old girl in August last year. So far this year, custom officers have found eight kilos of cocaine, which is eight times more than all of last year. The strength of the substance is not yet known but cocaine can usually be doubled or tripled. Therefore, it would be possible to sell six to nine kilos out of those three kilos. The street value of a gram of cocaine is 12.000 to 15.000 kronur and therefore the value of the find ranges from 80 to 120 million kronur.
