Surge in Travel Agencies

Icelanders are showing an increased interest in setting up new travel agencies. The Iceland Tourist Board has received 131 applications to set up new agencies, and 50 licences have been awarded so far this year. New laws on travel agencies were set on January 1st when travel agency licences came under the Iceland Tourist Board, who will evaluate them and reassess them regularly.
